Bellator 129 posts lowest ratings of season

October 21, 2014 by Jason Cruz 5 Comments

MMA Payout has learned from a Nielsen source that Friday’s Bellator 129 received a season low of 564,000 viewers with a peak of just 780,000.  It was the worst output of the season for Bellator.

Bellator Season 11 overnight ratings

Bellator 123:  667,000

Bellator 124:  771,000

Bellator 125:  742,000

Bellator 126:  656,000

Bellator 127:  609,000

Bellator 128:  668,000

Bellator 129:  564,000

Bellator 129 ratings

Payout Perspective:

The ratings should be of no surprise considering Friday’s card was the weakest this season.  In the main event Paul Bradley defeated Josh Neer.  Also on the card Houston Alexander fought Virgil Zwicker to a draw.  The peak occurred at 10:26 p.m. The overnight average and peak are substantial off the season averages.

For some damn reason my DVR didn’t record it.

Thanks TRUTHsplitter for another inane, incoherent comment. Hey, I have an idea, why don’t you do some reporting since you don’t seem to like Jason’s. Post a link to your MMA website and we’ll all be sure to visit it.

oh little Diego, my little munchkin… like ive said before, i wouldn’t be so harsh on the man if he actually knew what he was talking about

and no, me with an MMA website? LMFAOOOO NO ONE would know what i was talking about because most everyone doesn’t understand understand a thing about ratings, including jASSon crud

and he said “The ratings should be of no surprise considering Friday’s card was the weakest this season.” well shouldn’t the ratings from a “stronger card” ,such as bellator 123, be a surprise? i mean if a weak card getting TERRIBLE ratings is “no surprise” then a “strong card” getting TERRIBLE ratings should be a surprise, right?

he continuously goes on and on and on about gains, when their are none to be seen. the man is in over his head. i mean what is he comparisons to? is the man just pulling a shit-stained rag out of his arse and saying “yep, bellators on the up and up”

LMFAOOOO theres no rhyme or reason in anything he claims LMFAOOOO

Jason does a good job of getting this info out there and giving a running line on how the shows are doing compared to previous shows. On my site, I actually go over the cards ahead of time and give projections of what the shows “should do”. The rating for this one was slightly lower than projections but close enough (within 10%) that I’d call it accurate.

In terms of marquee value, it was the 2nd weakest show of the season. The lowest had Liam McGeary on it and the fact that show did better tells me that McGeary is become a bit of a draw.

Here’s the article I did previewing this show. http://mmadraws.blogspot.ca/2014/10/bellator-129-preview-and-prognosis.html
