UFC Fight Night 53 attendance, gate and bonuses

October 4, 2014 by Jason Cruz 5 Comments

UFC Fight Night 53 taking place at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden drew 10,026 and a live gate of $1.1 million.  In addition, bonuses were handed out to Max Holloway, Mike Wilkinson, Dennis Siver and Charles Rosa.

As is the norm, no comps were reported for this event which featured Rick Story and Gunnar Nelson in the main event.

Bonuses of $50,000 were given to Mike Wilkinson, Max Holloway and Dennis Siver and Charles Rosa for Fight of the Night.

Payout Perspective:

It was the third visit to Sweden for the UFC and it was the lowest attendance and gate out of the three. One would have to think that the reason for the lower attendance was the card.

UFC on Fuel TV 2 – 15,428, $2.23M

UFC on Fuel TV 9 – 14,506, $2.71M

UFC Fight Night 53 – 10,026, $1.1M

Wow. 1.1m on a no name, extremely low profile fight card…very impressive. Those other cards in Sweden had much bigger headliners, one of which was Gustafsson.

Goes to show you how impressive the expansion is working. Boxing could never do that big of a gate with no named headliners domestically or abroad.

Going all the way to Sweden and only selling 10k after pissing away half a billion is shameful. Anyone who would think this is good has his head so far up his own ass bahahaha another failure if you look at what is being put out finically and what is coming back in. But idiots look at 1.1 million and think its successful. Oh wait the fight pass numbers and merch must have really carried this failure of a show bahahahah

Going to Sweden with no named headliners and an awful lineup and still doing 1.1m on the gate….very impressive. Anyone who would think this wasn’t a success is a whore for gay boxing promoters and doesn’t know anything about the business what so ever. He continues to embarrass himself every time he posts with his gay trolling.

    Nice profitable show.

ha Millions spent in marketing, Swedish government taxes and fees, advertising and promotion up the ass, it wouldn’t have been bad but the UFC spends triple what they take in. The strategy isn’t working. Oh and insurance in Sweden is ridiculously expensive. At the end of the day with the hundreds of millions the UFC pissed away on expansion they have already lost their shirt on this meek card.

You are seriously retarded. You just make shit up. Millions in marketing??? NOT EVEN CLOSE! They probably spent a few hundred k to market the fight. You don’t know anything about fight advertisement, that is not their biggest cost. They might be spending a few million for a huge ppv like Silva-Weidman, but for Rick Story?? You are so dumb. You don’t know anything about taxes, don’t even mention them. You think the ufc pays federal income taxes on individual fights. Ridiculously expensive for insurance?? Not worth over a million dollars tard, not even close. Nice try moron. You are so moronic it is unreal. No one believes any of your bullshit you dirty old gay fuck.
