Payout Perspective:
Interesting that Anthony Johnson could earn more than Matt Brown. Brown moves up another $5K in scale from his last fight in May ($41K to $45K). The same with Lawler ($100K base to $105K). On the other end, Patrick Cummins is getting a raise of $2K after winning his first fight in the UFC.

Matt Brown is on a 7 FIGHT WIN STREAK! LOL! Absolutely ridiculous… plus he is the Main Event on a Network TV card and a Top Contender. He has nearly 20 fights in the UFC — a true veteran and worthy contender… This is a new low even for UFC standards.
tops E says
Hahahahahahaha….chump change….its ridiculous!
D says
You two are idiots. Matt Brown wasn’t ranked in the top 10 up until after his last fight. His UFC record early on was very mediocre. He has also never defeated anyone in the top 10. He made 96k in purse/FOTN money, plus he may have made additional bonuses. When will this idiocy end with morons just reading their base pay and assuming that is all they made?
I notice you guys also ignore the fact that Lawler made 270k in purse/FOTN money.
This wasn’t a title fight. And by the way, go check out what prelim boxers make. The least any fighter made on this prelim was 8k, boxers on Mayweather’s ppvs make less than that on the prelims.

Mike Brown is a journey man fighter, if you look at what Lawler made its about right. IMO both these guys are basically journey men and grinders. This fight sucked except for the last few minutes. Brown looks old, slow and tired, Lawler didn’t look much better. For a big TV fight both these guys should have a made a bit more but they are far from million dollar fighters! San Jose is a huge mma town lets see what the gate and numbers are.
D says
Sal is an idiot. That was a great fight, regardless of the fact that those two are not championship caliber fighters.
Saldathief says
2 sloppy journey men that belong in strike force or bellator, Brown looked like he just got out of a pow camp.
tops E says
How can the fighters pay bills with this kind of pay…how many times a year do they fight? Its a good thing boxing payouts are featured here sometimes so the amount its worth reading….ufc pay is a joke….they re saving for loan due hahahaha
BrainSmasher says
If you can’t fight 3 times per year and win 1 or 2 of those then you don’t deserve to make your living fighting in the UFC. If you do win one or two and fight 3 times. The. You are looking at at least 50,000 for that year with sponsorships. Not counting possible bonus money. Which means even with this “rookie” contract they as individuals would make more money that year than half the entire households in the US. So they would have no problem making a living.
tops E says
How many times do majority of fighters signed by the ufc fight in a yeAr…whose name is not ronda, dillashaw, mcgregor and a very few others…hahahaha…
BrainSmasher says
Using this card as an example. Siler has 4 fights in last 12 months. Means has 5 in last 12 months. Cruikshank has 5 in last 12 months. Masvidal has 4. So there would be no problem for anyone to get fights. The problem is many are not wanting to be active and they can do so because they don’t need the money. Basically you are an idiot and don’t know what you are talking about.
D says
Haha. Topps, no one ever post the prelim numbers for boxing cards. Boxers literally lose money that fight on Mayweather’s prelims. Hahaha. They shine shoes on the side to pay their rent. I’ve seen main card fighters on boxing ppvs make as low as 2k, the least any ufc fighter will make on even the prelims of a TUF Finale is 8 and 8. Haha.
D says
Topps is a sinking ship!!! He’s desperate!!! HAHAHAHA!!!
Saldathief says
all boxers have day jobs except for the ones who have management deals. If you want to make a living or a career out of being a fighter get ready for a reality check, boxer or mma its very very hard! On the whole the UFC pays its no name fighters better then most boxers, but take into consideration there are a million pro boxers and a few thousand MMA fighters. Boxers have a huge advantage over mma guys, they can fight way more a year, some smaller ones fight every month or every few weeks. There are way more outlets for boxers, more promoters, more shows, and more opportunities to fight. A journey man boxer can literally jump in a car and fight. Google a fighter named Buck Smith, was a Goosen fighter who fought once a week in shit towns and did well financially do to volume. MMA is way more abusive to the body, not that boxing isnt but its not the same or fair to compare the 2 physically. Most MMa guys cant fight 3 times a year or twice for that matter. The UFC knows this and adjusts accordingly
D says
More ignorance being spewed by Sal.
MMA fighters in the minor leagues can fight just as often as boxers on a lower level. See Travis Fulton. There are millions of small fight promotions in mma, every local area has fights. None of these people in either boxing or mma make much money and need day jobs, so there really isn’t any difference.
MMA is way more abusive to the body? The very face of boxing has dementia directly related to him boxing. There are countless cases of boxers with severe permanent damage directly related to the sport. Meldrick Taylor, Gerald McLellan, Jerry Quarry, etc, not to mention the fighters who have died in the ring or sparring. Boxing is way worse on the body than mma is.
There are a number of journeyman mma fighters who fight weekly. You just don’t know shit.
D says
By the way, Travis Fulton career record 250-49, he has fought in over 50 promotions in his career and most of them were regional.
Saldathief says
fighting for 500 bucks and a beer is hardly a career or a living ass clown. You always try to prove your point with the exception to the rule. Boxing is way bigger then some mma fight at a county fair in a horse shit smelling tent for peanuts. How long did it take you to google that?? bahahahah another waste of space by D= Really Dumb
non piratical and useless information once again. Sure there are journey men in mma like maybe 2 bahahahaha. there are thousands in boxing sphincter boy.
D says
HAHAHAHA!!! YOU STUPID FUCK!! You act like those boxers that fight 20x per year make more. Are you serious? They along with guys like Travis Fulton get paid a few k per fight you idiot.
Exception to the rule? Your example was the exception to the rule you dumb fuck.
Do you even know what bullshit you are spewing? There are just as many in mma as there are in boxing at least in the US. I know you hate research Mr Arum Ass Pirate. Maybe you should start doing a little research. This way you wouldn’t appear to be such a dumb fuck Mr. Brazil’s economy is broke(7th highest GDP in the world). HAHAHA!!!!
Diego says
MMA is probably tougher on the body, but boxing is tougher on the brain. You see more bad backs, necks and joints in MMA, but more traumatic brain injuries in boxing.
