Ticket demand for UFC 175 most expensive this year

July 1, 2014 by Jason Cruz 15 Comments

UFC 175 is set to be the most expensive ticket for the UFC this year according to SeatGeek, a search engine ticket finder.  This weekend’s event from the MGM Grand is the 7th most expensive UFC event since 2010.

For those wondering, the most expensive event since 2010 has been UFC 167 which featured Georges St. Pierre taking on Johny Hendricks.  The average price on the secondary market is $393.  The secondary market for tickets is dramatically up (189% from $136) since its dismal showing from Vancouver at UFC 174.

The ticket demand reveals that Chris Weidman is a top draw in the UFC.  Weidman’s last appearance was at UFC 168 which was the 4th most expensive ticket in the UFC since 2010.  UFC 168 which featured the rematch with Anderson Silva drew an average ticket price on the secondary market of $536.  As you recall, Ronda Rousey was on that card as well.  Since then, Rousey fought at UFC 170 but the demand for that event was comparatively low.

As of Tuesday, there are still tickets available on Ticketmaster which range from $128 to $1,298.  On the secondary market, the cheapest ticket out there is $270 in Section 215 (as of 3:05PT)

Payout Perspective:

The ticket demand for this event was expected to be high considering the UFC usually puts a big card on this weekend as it coincides with its International Fight Week in Vegas.  The numbers show that Weidman is one of the company’s top draws for the company.  It also helps that Ronda Rousey is also on the card.

UFC 175 should be the most expensive this year as far as tickets unless the organization puts another big show in November as the UFC’s end of year show actually takes place in 2015.

175 better be the most expensive ticket this year! Compared to what the other events had, but its only the 7nth highest wtf is that? Kind of stupid if its the seventh highest i mean 3 more down and its out of the top ten. How can you even compare it to 174 come on. This is a decent card, decent fights, decent names. Will it do a decent PPV?

I’m a fan of both boxing and MMA but seriously saldathief how do you have the lack of life in which you spend so much time studying a sport you don’t like?

LMAO! Everything you say about MMA is negative and you insult the fan base and you no matter how well an event does you talk about it’s shitty(expected) buyrate i.e. UFC 173. The majority of MMA/Boxing fans prefer to see a good show being put on as opposed to what ratings it got which, although interesting, doesn’t reflect the quality of the product most times.

You call it like your delusions see it you moron.

Yeah, there is a real sophistication to the boxing crowd. I mean, very outstanding well behaved individuals……..see Bowe-Golatta. They both have low class fans which you acknowledged, once again contradicting yourself.

Sal, you contribute nothing but trolling mullet boy. You are too busy sucking Arum’s dick and doing his dirty work. You do nothing but lie on here and then when someone like me calls you out on your bullshit and proves with statistics why you are full of shit you just accuse them of doing research as if that is some sort of foolish thing to do. Let me give you a piece of advice, if you did some research on well being, you wouldn’t be a 50 year old, karate/boxing obsessed fanboy who trolls mma websites in an angered school girl fashion because he is a geriatric, diaper wearing, type II diabetic, who is clearly on disability.

Oh and here is a statement related to the topic, UFC 175 will easily outgain Cotto-Martinez. Something you claimed would not happen.

Go run home to Bad Left Hook Sally.
