Bellator 119: 511K; Mo v. Rampage program: 460K

May 13, 2014 by Jason Cruz 1 Comment

MMA Payout has learned that Friday night’s Bellator 119 received an average viewership of 511,000 with a peak of 666,000 viewers.  In addition, the shoulder programming for Bellator’s first PPV featuring King Mo vs. Rampage scored an average viewership of 460,000 viewers on Monday night.

Bellator 119 overnight ratings graph

The Mo/Rampage shoulder programming rating was in line with Rampage’s previous promo shows, #Rampage4Real, last fall.

Payout Perspective:

The ratings are a disappointment as it reflects an over 25% drop from Bellator 118.  As you can see from the graph, the overnight peak is the lowest of the season.  This has to be a disappointment as this season saw the peak hitting over 1 million viewers on several occasions.  This cannot be the momentum Bellator sought when it had planned out its PPV.  Not only is the main event gone, but the television ratings do not reflect fan interest for Saturday.

I think they had to expect this. Very weal main event — because they put what would have been the main event on the PPV. Can’t fool the people all the time.
