Television By Numbers reports that last night’s Bellator MMA Live (91) received an average of 901,000 viewers and a 0.4 rating for the 18-49 demo.
The replay of the event scored 341,000 viewers which culminated in a total of 1.242 million viewers watching the event.
Bellator 85: 938,000 viewers
Bellator 86: 812,000 viewers
Bellator 87: 705,000 viewers
Bellator 88: 807,000 viewers
Bellator 89: 719,000 viewers
Bellator 90: 737,000 viewers
Bellator 91: 901,000 viewers
The M18-49 demo was up 41% and M18-34 was up 46% from last week. Both were season highs. In addition, the last 15 minutes of the show saw the viewership over 1M with a 1.005M viewers and a .92 rating for M18-49 and .90 for M18-34. Among Basic Cable Networks between 10p-12a, Bellator ranked #5 in M18-49.
Payout Perspective:
Impressive numbers for the show as only the debut on the network outperformed last night’s ratings. Spike TV launched an App for Bellator in time for folks to used it Thursday night. Not sure if that really added to the viewership but it was talked about incessantly throughout the night. Despite a lackluster main event, it was the most watched portion of the evening. Overall, the ratings reflect a dramatic increase from the past several weeks. We shall see if Bellator can maintain the momentum.
Sampson Simpson says
It’s the law of averages. Make yourself available to so many households consistently and the viewership will arrive if on the right channel.
Not that tough to predict especially since Spike MADE the UFC popular.
Diego says
Too bad the main event sucked.
Sampson Simpson says
All about the pain points. UFC makes you go out of your way to try and watch it on Fuel or pay for it on PPV.
Spike makes itself accessible and consistent which will let it be successful in the end.
Chris says
Good numbers, surprising since the card wasnt big, TNA lead in was decent and their wasnt any big basketball games on tv.
But thats a good number, we’ll see what next week does.
Also Sampson why do you bring up the UFC in every single post? Two posts you mention the UFC in both of them.
and I’d say UFC/Spike helped each other but UFC def helped Spike more,
Sampson Simpson says
This is MMA discussion is it not?
Brain Smasher says
Now it was a Bellator discussion until you hijacked it for no reason.
Does anyone know what TNA’s ratings were? I suspect this ratings increase was either due to the lead in or word of mouth of last weeks King Mo Disaster. Because it sure wasnt the fight card they put out there.
assassin says
Not much better. 0.6 with 1.49MM for TNA
You gotta look way down the list to find Bellator.

This was the first Bellator card I watched in 2013. MIddle 2 fights were interesting, I fast forwarded through the 1st fight and it was fairly obvious who would win the title fight. Not all that exciting. They just need to get (or develop) better fighters.
Sampson Simpson says
Yeah… they need to develop “better” fighters so some no name anonymous “assassin” will tune in.
Everything they do must cater to your needs. How could we forget, the world revolves around you.
BrainSmasher says
Well until they cater to Assassins needs they will continue to do ratings below episodes of UFC Unleashed on Spike. The one thing Bellator has going for it is they get a lot of exciting finishes because there is such a large gap In tale t between the fighters. But at the same time this lower skill level and lack of match making control cause a revolving door with belts and contenders. So no one looks credible. And their best guys are never really tested.
Sampson Simpson says
As long as they trump Fuel viewership by 4x regularly Im sure Bellator will be happy
Chris says
THats all Sampson has, Bellator does more viewers on Spike in primetime following TNA than UFC does on a network in 3x less homes and air normally in the morning or afteroon.
Like Bellator cares about that, how about focusing on beating FX cards, cause those are equal, UFC prelims > Bellator title fights.
UFC Fight Night doubled Bellators highest rated card ever.
UFC gate for one event > entire season of Bellator gates combined.
UFC makes more in one PPV than Bellator makes a year.
LOL only thing you have is Bellator beats a FUel card? You brag about that? Thats like a fan bragging about a Fox card beating a card on MTV 2
But I know you need something to hold onto so this is it, Bellator on Spike beats Fuel cards.
assassin says
Sampson
Yes, I am exactly the person Bellator is trying to reach:
Male, 18-48 age bracket
Income over (let’s just say high enough)
Regularly watches sports Live (not post 3d DVR)
Purchases 6-10 MMA PPV yr
Will watch supplemental MMA programming
My interest in MMA has peaked and declined some over the past 18 months, but still more than a casual fan. I even host 2-3 parties per year for MMA (and the occasional Pacquio fight).
Chris says
BS TNA did like 1.4, not the best lead in and the Bellator event peaked for the main event so it wasnt so much the lead in that gave them the rating.
I think its the last card was entertaining and fans tuned in to watch and also I think it was due to the TNT basketball game not being strong, only did like 1.5 million viewers when other games like Heat play they dod 3 plus.
So having 1-2 million sports fans roaming the channels I think Bellator picked some of them up.
Sampson Simpson says
Product gets more weekly consistent reach. Yep. Thats important
anti sampson says
Mr sampson
You are such a tool. I think you secretly love ufc. You act
Like the crazy x after a breakup. Ufc numbers were better
When they were on spike. Its ok to like all mma.
saldathief says
Its easier for me to watch a crappy link online to see a UFC ppv event than it is to get fule tv and I have 800 channels on my tv. Fuel is a joke.
Sampson Simpson says
Fuel is a joke. It will be the demise of UFC
Brain Smasher says
Fuel is the best thing to happen to the UFC. Not even the WWE at this point has a nework that dedicates so much time to it. UFC could not get this much time and original programing on any other network. I love that the UFC now has a pre fight and post fight show just like the NFL on Sundays. Spike could never put this type of money or dedicate this much time to a UFC event. Chael, Gloazer, and the gang are the best addition to the UFC in many years. The shows they produce could never happen any other way and are a must for any fan. Round tables with UFC legends, Post fight shows. Pre fight brekdowns, etc. They even put together the group in the studio to discuss the fights during the weigh ins. They truely make an event of every fight card. The UFC is treated like Fox does the NFL. I love it.
Sampson Simpson says
Yeah… and nobody watches Fuel so who cares
Brain Smasher says
Paying PPV customers do. Much better than TNA over flow who dont buy PPVs.
Sampson Simpson says
Good, keep over taxing the zombia fan base and see what happens. Theres a reason UFC is definitely on the down slide since 2009
AK says
THE UFC is on the downslide because (no matter what Dana says and how many times he calls those who disagree with him f-ing idiots), of the over-saturation of events, which I personally love. Not whatever your incoherent theory is.
