Anderson Silva’s manager Ed Soares takes the time to speak with Kimura.se about the UFC 112 main event gone wrong between Anderson Silva and Demian Maia.
Payout Perspective:
Anderson Silva is human just like the rest of us. So, perhaps his emotions got the best of him at UFC 112. Still, you’d expect more from someone that’s one of the world’s greatest fighters and his emotions getting the best of him doesn’t excuse the unsportsmanlike behavior.
I think the thing I found most interesting about this interview was the caution with which Soares spoke. He chose his words very carefully and even though he stopped short of saying that Anderson screwed up, I’m inclined to think the message may have been received this time around.
Anderson likely won’t get the benefit of the doubt until he puts his next opponent away decisively, but that might not matter if he signs to move up or down a weight class. In that case, most of the fans will still come running, because they know what he’s capable of.
