Kimbo-Alexander Live + 7 Day Playback: 6 Million Viewers

January 4, 2010 by Kelsey Philpott Leave a Comment

SpikeTV has received the TUF 10 Finale Live+7 Day playback figures from the Saturday, December 12th event, and the continued viewership over the following seven days was enough to push the Kimbo Slice vs. Houston Alexander fight over the 6 million viewer mark.

Payout Perspective:

It’s a roughly 15% increase on the Kimbo fight over the following seven days, which is material. While it’s good news, I think most would still agree that the shimmer of the Kimbo Slice MMA experiment is slowly wearing off. His initial debut on TUF was phenomenal, but the ratings for the show dissipated over the second half of the show and the TUF 10 Finale didn’t do the 7-8 million that some had thought.

Here’s our original coverage on the TUF 10 ratings:

Spike TV has released the ratings numbers for The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale, which aired live last Saturday from Las Vegas, Nevada. The event drew a 2.4 HH rating for an average viewership of 3.7 million. The event scored well in the M18-34 (4.6), and saw over 5 million viewers tune in to watch Kimbo Slice defeat Houston Alexander.
