UFC.com Revamped

September 15, 2009 by Kelsey Philpott Leave a Comment

The UFC has revamped its main website (www.ufc.com).

Payout Perspective.

The UFC has been remarkably successful at using the Internet to effectively communicate its message and distribute branded content, so it’s been kind of surprising to see the organization maintain such a poor website layout in the past few years. Needless to say the revamp was long over due.

While not completely different – much of the layout remains the same – the site has eliminated much of the advertising and event clutter that made looking at the predecessor a difficult task.  They’re also using a click-through page at the beginning of the site to provide information about up-coming events, which is a sound move. It stands to reason that most fans visit UFC.com not for the articles, but for the information regarding future events. It only makes sense to make that information readily available.

Note: In related news, long-time UFC Editorial Director, Thomas Gerbasi, has taken an Editorial position with boxingscene.com. It remains to be seen whether or not he’ll continue to write for the organization past his UFC 103 commitments.
