ProElite offers free tickets for dressing like Minowaman

January 12, 2012 by Jason Cruz 3 Comments

Cagewriter reports that ProElite will offer a free ticket to any fan donning fighter Minowaman’s attire. The Japanese fighter of Pride fame usually wear’s speedo-like red trunks when he grapples.

Via T. Jay Thompson’s twitter:

Payout Perspective:

Its a creative promotion to gain publicity for one of its top attractions for the 1/21 event as well as boost attendance. There should also be some interesting photo-ops.

We all recall the UFC chastised Dennis Hallman for wearing speedos in his match against Brian Ebersole. And next week, we may have an arena full of people wearing speedos.

This is awesome. I’ve been watching Minowa with my brother since the Pride days when he had the epic first battle with Phil Baroni. I’m interested to see how many people dress up in red speedos the night of the fight; an interesting promo to say the least!

Isnt this event in the US? Kind of a lame promotion. Minowa dress’ like Ken Shamrocks “mini me”. There is nothing original about him. Plus no one in the US knows who he is. Anyone who dress’ like him to get a cheap ticket should be beat within an inch of their life. lol
