UFC 184 attendance, gate and bonuses

March 1, 2015

MMA Junkie reports the attendance, gate and bonuses from UFC 184 held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.  Ronda Rousey led the group of bonus winners for the night.

The event drew a reported 17,654 fans for a gate of $2.675 million according to Dana White at the post-fight press conference.  In comparison to other UFC events at the Staples Center, UFC 60 drew 14,802 (10,347 paid according to Wikipedia) for a gate of $2.9 million. UFC 104 drew 14,892 for a gate of $1.9 million. UFC on Fox 4 drew 16,080 for a gate of $1.1 million.

The capacity at the Staples ranges from 18,000-21,000 depending on event.

Ronda Rousey, Jake Ellenberger, Tony Ferguson and Tim Means all picked up $50,000 Performance of the Night Bonuses with their finishes on Saturday night.

Payout Perspective:

Certainly there could have been other fighters that could have received the $50,000.  Roan Carneiro and Derrick Lewis come to mind.  As for the attendance and gate, it was the biggest attendance for an event at Staples although the number of comps is never reported.  The gate was slightly larger for UFC 60 which featured Matt Hughes and Royce Gracie.

Complete bullshit with the attendance!! 300 level was never sold to the public, either they comped it completely out or it was empty. More lies by the UFC. So Rousey sold more tickets then Jones Cormier, more then Silva Diaz, and even more then Silva Weidmen 2 YEA FUCKING SURE SHE DID!!! Oh and she supposedly sold more then all of lesner’s fights bahahahah Shows that thre UFC likes to insult the intelligence of any decent fan and half the press!! HA Look at the gate, average price is $150 it doesn’t add up Sorry Dana sell your lies to someone else!!! So when the UFC has nothing exciting they lie. Funny how they stopped releasing comp numbers the past year! All fake

    HAHAHA!!! Saldaqueef going full retard!

You can tell there is a DEEP desparation with Pink Pig Dana White always going off the deep end comparing his crappy MMA fighters to Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali.

  4. d on March 1st, 2015 3:32 PM

Mike Tyson on a hypothetical fight with Gracie back in ’93:

“Well, in ’93, I was in prison, so there would not have been a fight,” said Tyson speaking practically. “But there is no way I would have won. I had no idea what was going on with that type of fighting and would’ve been taken by surprise. I would have had to train in that particular art of fighting for that to happen. That’s a particular art. You are not going to go in there with your just your hands, you need to have a great ground game as well. You also need a great wrestling game to be successful. You have to have both skills, wrestling and boxing. That’s the truth.”

Seems like Tyson doesn’t agree with you.

  5. The Greatest on March 1st, 2015 4:32 PM

Tyson also said he would eat your children, so how much weight of credibility are we giving to what someone says.

If Tyson wouldve said he wouldve of killed Gracie in 93, D you wouldve screamed hes an idiot.
I can find plenty of MMA fighters who said Tyson wouldve been the scariest thing walking in the cage.

  6. d on March 1st, 2015 4:55 PM

Mike Tyson disagrees with you. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  7. Pink Pig on March 1st, 2015 7:14 PM

THIS MMA fighter is the NEXT great boxer!

  8. FightBusiness on March 1st, 2015 8:08 PM

D- who gives a shit if Tyson says he would have lost. yeah he would have because he doesnt study mma. Do you know why? because MMA is what you do when you cant square up and fight. its a concession sport. UFC fighters are “multi dimensional” because they suck at the ultimate dimension which is squaring up and fighting like a damn man. by the way allow kicks to the face in mma and let them fight on concreate and you’ll find out real quick how wise it is to study dry humping. by the way why would he study mma when he was making millions as a boxer. MMA = men who cant stand up and fight.

  9. BrainSmasher on March 1st, 2015 10:14 PM

Ultimate dimension? You mean the 4 most effective fighting style is the ultimate art? Being dumbed down so uneducated poor people can understand it does make it the ultimate dimension.

  10. d on March 1st, 2015 10:37 PM

Fightbusiness, no, mma is what you do when you want a real fight and not a boxing match. Boxers box because they can’t fight. Period. They prefer to dry hump each other in the clinch. They aren’t real fighters, they are boxers. As usual, you are a moron.

  11. BrainSmasher on March 2nd, 2015 3:47 AM

Ironically when boxers get in fights the last thing they do is box. Remember Tyson/Lewis wrestling? Lewis/Rahman? Larry Holmes kick from the limo? They turn into everything but a boxer when a real fight breaks out. Even Tyson said when he used to street fight. He wanted to get them on the ground and get on top. Lol

  12. FightBusiness on March 2nd, 2015 6:36 AM

D- mma is what you do when you see it all the time. when someone pushes you your first instinct isnt to take them down and dry hump its to punch them. Boxers can only do one thing are you fuckin kidding me? yes they only do one thing because there good at the ultimate facet. There is a reason why every school in America has a wrestling team and not a boxing team: because learning wrestling isnt that difficult. there are mma gyms all over the place how about boxing gyms? I love how brainsmaher uses a press conference where 20 people piled on each other as a symbol of what boxers due in a real fight. tyson fell to the ground and was pinned down by multiple people thats why he bit lewis. if you see lewis’ reaction when tyson approached him he first tryed to punch him. in a real fight there are weapons and multiple attackers that makes dry humping even stupider.

  13. d on March 2nd, 2015 7:46 AM

FIghtbusiness, your retardation is flaring up again. Wrestling is just as difficult if not more difficult than boxing. The reason why boxing isn’t in schools is because it involves punching people in the face you idiot. Boxers also do dry hump, they just do it from a standing position. Every boxer who has attempted a cross over into mma has been humiliated badly. There is an endless list of high and low level boxers who have been humbled attempting an mma career or even a fight in mma. Also, YOUR first instinct would be to throw a punch. For someone who comes from a wrestling background, THEIR first instinct would be to take the guy down. Idiot. Go back to Floyd Gayweather and his band of homos.

  14. FightBusiness on March 2nd, 2015 8:55 AM

D- seriously what the fuck are you talking about? cliching is not HUMPING you fuckin dummy. also a clinch last for two seconds and is discouraged. the referee breaks them up and says stop acting like faggots and fight. in the ufc the ref sits there looking at them dry hump for hours. its like gay porn. also boxers clinch when they are hurt not as a move. every boxer who has attemoted… tell that to 49 year old ray Mercer who knocked the fuck out of 35 year old tim Sylvia. all he needed was 5 mma fights to figure this shit out and he knocked out the former champ quicker than Courtoure. Ricrdo Mayorga was going 5 full minutes with MMA fighters within 2 fights. Wrestling is harder are you fuckin serious? if thats the case why cant wrestlers (not wwe) make a living? because the public is not going to watch bullshit fighting. wrestling is what you do with your brother when you dont want to hurt him. If a wrestler takes some guy down on concreate thats fickin stupid. he’s hoing to scrape his knees and get closer to the floor which is stupid. Go back to watch gay fighting and thinking your tough. even dana White is a frustrated boxing tomatoe can. HAHAHAHS

  15. saldathief on March 2nd, 2015 10:12 AM

haha another UFC thread turned into a boxing thread. Shows that there is nothing worth talking about when it comes to the UFC haha

  16. d on March 2nd, 2015 10:30 AM

FIghtbusiness, yes it is, it is pure dry hump. I’ve heard Gayweather talk about how much he loves dry humping other men in the clinch. I know the refs tell the to stop acting like faggots, but boxers like Gayweather can’t get enough of it. Boxers don’t clinch because they are hurt, they do it because it is a way for gay men to rub up against each other.

HAHAHAHA!!! Here it comes.. the Mercer-Sylvia delusional example. I love it. Amusing. Okay, so first off, that fight was a scheduled boxing match until the 11th hour when they were forced to make it an mma bout. Sylvia also showed up at a diabetic 315lbs for that fight. Then, Sylvia CHOSE to stand and trade strikes with Mercer which was the only way Mercer could win. Mercer wasn’t defending takedown attempts idiot. Also, you neglect to realize that Mercer had 1 prior mma bout and was humiliated by Kimbo Slice, a guy who was run out of mma only to wind up boxing and racking up a 7-0 record in boxing. Mercer also got his ass kicked in kickboxing out in K1 despite the fact that it was pure standup, as did his fellow boxers Frans Botha. Haha.

Ricardo Mayorga never won an mma fight in his life. Thanks for giving me my second example. He is 0-3 against minor league competition.

James Toney, Art Jimmerson, Melton Bowen all humiliated in the UFC.

Butterbean was humiliated at his attempt into mma and kickboxing for that matter.

By the way, wrestlers can’t make a living because people want to watch people get beat up or submitted like they do in mma. Wrestling is not fighting by itself. Retard. Go back to watching Gayweather grind up against his opponents you little faggot. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

  17. d on March 2nd, 2015 6:47 PM

“Scan a television ratings spreadsheet and it’s impossible to miss that the largest numbers of viewers for any boxing telecast almost always fall into the category of what is referred to in the ratings business as “P55+.”

Boxing’s the 55 and up club!! HAHAHA!!!!

  18. saldathief on March 2nd, 2015 6:51 PM

HaHA D spends half his time researching boxing. What a Tool!!

  19. FightBusiness on March 2nd, 2015 7:40 PM

D- oh oh Boxing on NBC is right around the corner. Get ready for all the excuses from D when Boxing consistantly gets over 4 million views on network tv and gets renewed. by the way mayweather vs Pac is set to do a 40 million live gate. If UFC is more popular please tell me the last UFC fight that came close to that gate number in a 20k arena

  20. d on March 2nd, 2015 7:43 PM

Hahaha. Sal thinks it takes hours to read an article on yahoo. Saldaqueef!!!

  21. d on March 2nd, 2015 7:48 PM

Fightbusiness, if boxing only gets 4m views on NBC, their sponsors will bail on them. Haha. Way too much money to buy time like that. The overhead is unreal.

Mayweather-Pac is set to do a 40m gate, yeah, and that will literally be the first ppv they have this year and it takes place in May. If boxing is more popular, why did the UFC outdraw them in ppv buys/revenue for 7 out of the last 8 years? Why can boxing only sell with 2-3 fighters- 2 of which will be retired in no more than a year. When Mayweather retires in the fall, the world of boxing disappears. Boxing is for senior citizens, just like their stars! HAHAHAHAHA!!!

  22. d on March 2nd, 2015 7:49 PM

Also, you should read that article about boxing fans- most are 55 and up. Sponsors prefer the 18-35 demo which mma dominates in.

  23. saldathief on March 2nd, 2015 8:05 PM

D is a desperate dude! how pathetic !!! hahaha

  24. saldathief on March 2nd, 2015 8:16 PM

Another boxing thread hahahah. MMA news= Has been Rampage, GSP who isnt relative, Silva and drugs zzz zzzz, and a fake fight!! bahahahhahahaha Oh wait Roussy beat another fraud, has only fought made up frauds, and in all truth women’s mma is a fraud with no real fighters even in the same universe as Rousey.
UFC needs to think fast, I’m sure they will have some new story soon. and D will keep researching some bullshit boxing story he thinks is fact. 100k for ringside seats for floyd pac and rising. UFC gave away 10,000 tickets for Rousey lol
But D thinks MMA is a bigger sport, hahaha

  25. d on March 2nd, 2015 9:04 PM

Hahahaha. Talk about desperate Sal. Boxing has 1 fight. That’s it. Hahaha!! Broner the poor man’s Mayweather will save the day though, right? HAHAHA!!

  26. saldathief on March 3rd, 2015 1:34 PM

Here is a major UFC production person quitting , too many lies and bullshit! Most dont know what a site coordinator does, and D has no fucking clue. But here is a person who actually determines, do to line of site, available seats, along with many other behind the scenes technical specs. He was tired of filing fake specs, along with other production lies!!! UFC was the last straw of complete bullshit!!!
    Suck on that D!!

  27. saldathief on March 3rd, 2015 1:39 PM

Only a complete newbee idiot would think or say boxing has only one fight!! There are easily a dozen boxing fights at any given time for the last 100 years. What does the UFC have Rousey Cyborg?? bahahha oh wait slow down CM punk? bahahha Boxing is proving one thing, they will double UFC ppv again haha

  28. d on March 3rd, 2015 6:47 PM

HAHA!! You should hire him to wipe your ass, you shit laced, diaper wearing fucking geriatric. HAHAHAHA!!!!

I love your conspiracy theories you twat. You have no idea why he quit.

Your delusions about boxing and ufc’s ppv buys/revenue are growing. Boxing won’t even have a ppv until May. There is a zero percent chance boxing comes anywhere near doubling the ufc this year in terms of ppv, and unless Pac-Mayweather fight 2x this year, the ufc will outdraw them once again in ppvs for the 8th out of the last 9 years.

Maybe Adrien Broner will save the day on NBC! Lots of ppv buys there! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

  29. tops E on March 3rd, 2015 10:59 PM

Rousey keeps mentioning she wants to watch pac/ may…hahaha after twenty years ufc still needs to mention boxing hahahaha…publicity whores hahaha….pathetic

  30. saldathief on March 4th, 2015 11:37 AM

Yea Rousey wants to see a real fight, something she never had!!! bahahahahah
Floyd pac does over 4 million ppv and a 40$ million plus gate and theaters world wide!! 20 million people alone will watch in Asia if not more! Oh and the entire country of the Philippines. UFC is trying to spend their way out of bad press and will do anything to make a story with total bullshit! D is too stupid to read the writing on the wall hahaha Another Boxing thread haha

  31. d on March 4th, 2015 1:01 PM

A real fight???? HAHAHAHA!!! Mayweather hasn’t had a real fight his entire career. The guy doesn’t fight, he humps in the clinch and runs away throwing a jab.

Now we know he is an Arum minion with the 4m ppv buy delusion.

Boxing is one and done this year. HAHAHA!

Saldaqueef is too stupid to realize this is called MMAPAYOUT, who dedicates his day to trolling on here. He is obsessed with mma taking over boxing. HAHAHAHA!!

Got something to say?
