TUF 10, Episode 6 Ratings

October 22, 2009 by Kelsey Philpott Leave a Comment

Episode 6 of The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights again drew a solid 2.1 HH rating for an average of 2.8 million viewers. The season also continued its strong showing in the M18-34 and M18-49 demographics with ratings of 3.3 and 2.8, respectively.

A complete summary of the season’s ratings is tabled below:

TUF 10   Overall M18-34 M18-49
  Episode 1 2.9 5.3 4.3
  Episode 2 2.2 4.2 3.2
  Episode 3 3.7 6.9 5.4
  Episode 4 2.2 3.8 2.4
  Episode 5 2.2 3.3 2.9
  Episode 6 2.1 3.3 2.8

Payout Perspective:

MMAPayout.com has talked a lot lately about the importance of converting TUF ratings into PPV viewership, and this is an important weekend for the UFC. The fact that TUF 10 is the highest rated season to date will provide us with an opportunity to see how much of an impact the television show really has on PPV buyrates – specifically UFC 104.

The Kimbo show seems to be over: the Rampage vs. Rashad feud is being documented more closely, and the season is finally starting to move the camera around the house a little more.

Now that it appears as though Kimbo is out of the running for a return fight (or at least until the Finale), it’ll be interesting to see what happens to the ratings of the show. TUF 10 has pulled an average 2.55 over six episodes, but will likely continue to decline in the wake of a non-Kimbo focus.
