UFC Heavyweight Mohammed Usman has been suspended by Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) for 30 months for testing positive for testosterone. CSAD added additional time due the suspension due to Usman not being forthcoming with information around his drug tests.
Usman will not be able to return to the UFC until April 2028.
In a social media post, Usman stated he “took full responsibility” for the suspension.
The out of competition testing was taken in September 2025. According to the statement from CSAD, he was removed from a fight in October due to the drug test. He admitted to the use of testosterone and associated banned substances.
However, he was not forthright with assisting in the investigation per CSAD. “[h]e [Usman] did not do so in a timely fashion and not until CSAD confronted him with evidence they had independently collected during a detailed investigation of his use of these multiple prohibited substances as well as his attempt to deceive CSAD with a false explanation.”
As a result, 6 months was added on to his 2 year suspension. Usman, 36, will be 38 years old when he will be able to return to the Octagon.
