Jake Paul-Tank Davis exhibition moved to Miami

September 19, 2025 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The made-for-Netflix boxing match between Jake Paul and Tank Davis is moving to Miami. The event will take place at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

The move comes after a report from USA Today which indicated that MVP Promotions, the company putting on the event which is owned by Paul and Nakisa Bidarian had withdrawn its request for permits and rule waivers required to hold the event in Georgia. Rick Thompson, the chairman of the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission indicated that MVP was “promoting something they should not have been.” The big issue is the weight difference between Paul and Davis. Paul fought at nearly 200 pounds while Davis fought at 133.8 pounds last March. While contracted weights differ greatly from when the boxers step into the ring, it is still a large disparity which is likely the reason why Georgia would not let the event happen.

Bidarian indicated that details of the fight (presumably fight weight) will occur at a press conference in New York next week.

Payout Perspective:

Hard to not think that a fight fell through for Paul and that Davis is trying to rehabilitate his image yet again after legal troubles stemming from allegedly hitting the mother of his children. I’ll be honest, this fight is going to be a hard sell for Netflix. While Paul is a name, fighting a guy over 50 pounds lighter makes no sense.

Yes, the Pulitzer-winning journalist is the source we should ignore, not the people who continue to want access to the LA sports team they cover. This was a dumb thing to think and an even dumber thing to tweet.
