McGregor appears at The White House

March 17, 2025 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Conor McGregor posted a cryptic message on Sunday night about being in Washington. We find out that on St. Patrick’s Day McGregor made a stop at The White House to discuss with the president anti-immigration issues in Ireland.

Bear in mind, McGregor is not a government official in Ireland nor does it appear that he was acting in the official capacity of the Irish government. Yet, McGregor came to Washington DC for “the most important meeting of my country’s future” with Trump. McGregor met with Trump and administration officials to discuss issues of immigration.

McGregor stated that “Ireland is at the cusp of potentially losing its Irishness” due to the “illegal immigration racket.”

But, it appears that not everyone joins McGregor in his viewpoint on his country. Prime Minister Micheal Martin stated in a social media post, “McGregor’s remarks are wrong and do not reflect the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day or the views of the people of Ireland.”

Notably, McGregor has been found guilty of rape in a civil trial in Ireland last year. McGregor has appealed the verdict that is pending.

Payout Perspective:

Today was just a photo op as there is really nothing the US could legally do to help Ireland with issues of immigration. Moreover, the US didn’t even meet with an official with government authority. Having visited the country last year, most Irish do not like Conor McGregor. However, some of them have the same viewpoint of the former UFC champion as many blame their ills on immigrants. A familiar refrain for Trump supporters. The fact a sitting president took this meeting is a disgrace.
