TKO to enter boxing, deal with Ali Act?

February 18, 2025 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Ari Emanuel was on The Pat McAfee Show during Super Bowl week to chop it up with the bros. One notable mention from Emanuel was the indication that TKO would be entering the boxing business.

Also of note, Emanuel stated he didn’t think that Ali Act helped boxing. See the clip below.

The Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act was passed in 2000 and was an amendment to the Professional Boxing Safety Act of 1996. The purpose of the Ali Act is to protect the rights and welfare of boxers, reduce the potential exploitation of the athletes and increase transparence and oversight in the sport. Since its passage, there have been some challenges to the Ali Act. There have been few successful challenges under the Ali Act but if TKO decides to lobby against it, it could happen.

For those that follow, we know that there was a move to expand the Ali Act to mixed martial arts. However, that attempt went nowhere. The political climate is ripe for a move to strike down the Ali Act. With Dana White a close confidant of the president, it is possible.
