Luis Pajuelo banned 2 years for failed drug tests

October 3, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Featherweight Luis Pajuelo has been banned 2 years and his UFC contract terminated per Combat Sports Anti-Doping, the regulatory body overseeing drug testing for the promotion.

The Peru native accepted the 24-month suspension for violating the UFC’s anti-doping policy. Two out of competition tests on Aug. 5 and 21st showed positive results for 19-norandrosterone and Isotope Ration Mass Spectrometry (IRMS) which relate to anabolic steroids which are prohibited. He also admitted to taking deca-durabolin.

Pajuelo’s short stint with the UFC started with winning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in August 2023. He lost his only bout in the UFC this past March to Fernando Padilla.

Pajuelo’s suspension began in late August, and he will be eligible to return in August 2026.
