At the UFC 304 post-fight press conference, Dana White informed the media that he had cut Muhammed Mokaev after his unanimous decision victory over Manel Kape.
The number 6 ranked flyweight was heading into what many thought was a bitter rivalry against Kape. But, instead of an action-packed fight, it was a grapple-heavy match that was devoid of much in terms of excitement.
White mocked that the PFL (assuming that is where Mokaev would land) would be getting an undefeated fighter in Mokaev.
Mokaev was immediately removed per social media post from John Morgan:
No time wasted removing Muhammad Mokaev from the official flyweight rankings pool following #UFC304.

Payout Perspective:
White cutting a top-ranked flyweight reflects his tenor for the night. He was not happy with the lack of finishes for UFC 304. The Mokaev-Kape fight was to be a bitter rivalry and turned out to be less than that. While he may not have shown it, he is probably not excited about Belal Muhammad winning the welterweight title. White’s decision reflects his sign that fighters have to be entertaining and not just win. Also, you might infer that he is not a fan of the flyweight division.
