John Laurinaitis files Declaration in Grant case

June 10, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

While the Janel Grant-Vince McMahon/WWE lawsuit is stayed, co-defendant John Laurinaitis filed a declaration in support of compelling arbitration.

Originally, Laurinaitis’ attorney had claimed it was a victim in this matter, but later re-aligned with McMahon’s attorneys in supporting the Motion to Compel Arbitration.

The case has been stayed by the U.S. Attorney with the approval of the plaintiff Grant in order for it to conduct its own investigation into McMahon.

Specifically, Laurinaitis makes clear that at the time of the allegations he was a full-time employee of WWE, he believed he “was listed as a released party from any and all lawsuits or causes of action by Plaintiff Grant.” This is based on Grant’s Confidential Settlement Agreement.

Indicating that he was a full-time employee infers that WWE would be liable for his actions instead of being personally liable. This would be one of the reasons he has aligned with McMahon/WWE.

Yes, the Pulitzer-winning journalist is the source we should ignore, not the people who continue to want access to the LA sports team they cover. This was a dumb thing to think and an even dumber thing to tweet.
