Paul-Tyson moved to November 15th

June 7, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The Jake Paul-Mike Tyson boxing match set for July has a new date. The two will fight on November 15th on Netflix.

The event will now be on a Friday night instead of the original Saturday night option. AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas will still be the venue for the event. The move to Friday will give additional time for the stadium to convert back to a football stadium as the Cowboys will be hosting the Dallas Texans on November 18th for Monday Night Football. Perhaps a nice weekend for you sports nuts.

Tyson, with the agreement of Paul, postponed the fight due to a health issue the 57-year-old suffered on May 26th. During a flight from Miami to LA, Tyson had an “ulcer flare-up” which needed medical attention. He was given physician orders to lighten his training load which precipitated the request to postpone the fight.

The new date may come at a time with a lot on the plate for sports fans. The NHL, NBA, NFL and college football will be in season as opposed to the original July date which would have had little to compete with in the summer. But, the promoters may be able to capitalize on this with advertising during the other sporting events. Netflix is making a hard run at live events and the move to fall should not really hurt the platform.
