Tyson-Paul fight postponed

May 31, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight scheduled for July in Dallas at AT&T Stadium has been delayed according to a release by Paul’s management.

Tyson had a health issue last week which is reported as an “ulcer flare up” in the press release from Most Valuable Promotions. The medical issue has caused Tyson to scale back training which precipitated the need to postpone the fight.

The 57-year-old Tyson anticipates returning to full training with the hope of putting on the fight later this year at AT&T Stadium.

Payout Perspective:

Not the best outcome for Paul or Tyson or Netflix. The telecast will still air on Netflix live but the platform’s momentum of live events which started earlier this year will come to a momentarily halt without this fight. Tyson is not getting younger and despite the hype that he will be the same fighter as he was 30 years ago, his body will have something to say about that.
