Texas AG finally responds to WWE lawsuit, advocates for public release of records

May 21, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The Texas Attorney General has filed a response to the WWE’s lawsuit seeking declaratory relief to keep confidential records held by the City of San Antonio.

WWE filed the lawsuit this past February seeking to prevent the release of records with the City of San Antonio in conjunction with the 2023 Royal Rumble. The Texas AG did not file a response within the requisite number of days to do so and WWE immediately filed a Motion for Default and entry of Default Judgment. The hearing was set for next week but in lieu of that the AG responded.

The AG has entered a general denial of all allegations in the Plaintiff’s Petition per Wrestlenomics.

Since the AG has appeared, the lawsuit will now commence. Since WWE is not seeking monetary damages, but a declaration from the court, this case could be bigger in terms of obtaining information from public records.
