NAC withholds purse of Igor Severino

March 25, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

MMA Junkie reports that the Nevada Athletic Commission has withheld the purse of Igor Severino after he was disqualified Saturday for biting his opponent Andre Lima.

Lima received $50,000 for the obvious bite on his bicep. He originally received $25,000 from the UFC and Dana gave him an extra $25,000 after he saw Lima get a tattoo on his bicep immediately after the fight.

Due to the lack of fighter pay disclosures in Nevada, the media does not have access to how much Severino was paid. This adds on to the bad news that Severino was being released for his actions.

It is likely that Severino’s case will be heard in April at the commission’s monthly meeting where he will probably get fined and receive a suspension.
