The WWE held Monday Night Raw at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California two days after UFC 298 held its own event in the arena. On WWE’s telecast, Michael Chandler was handed a microphone and cut a promo on Conor McGregor.
One-half of the coaches on the most recent The Ultimate Fighter called out the other, Conor McGregor. The two lightweights have been circling each other ever since the filming ended. McGregor announced that he would fight Chandler at welterweight as the main event at International Fight Week this summer. Yet, we have no new news on whether or not the two will get in the Octagon.
Also on the show, Professional Bull Riders’ John Crimber. The 18-year-old bull rider was introduced prior to the main event of the night.
Endeavor signed a new deal to hold events in the Honda Center as it plans to build an entire entertainment district in the neighborhood. So, it would be likely that PBR would be making a stop there as well.
Payout Perspective:
As it has indicated when the two promotions merged to make TKO, the WWE and UFC are working together. Chandler’s pro wrestling promo (which he has done in the Octagon) gave the promotion fuel on one of cable’s most-watched shows on Monday night. We can see more of this as Wrestlemania and UFC 300 approach.
