CM Punk’s absence from professional wrestling is over as he returned to the WWE at the end of its premium live event, Survivor Series, in Chicago.
According to reports and Paul Levesque in the post-fight scrum the return was kept under wraps with only Triple H and Nick Khan knowing until the end of the show. Obviously being in his hometown, the return was well-received.

Triple H poked fun at the return which was brokered by Levesque in speaking with Phil.

The return is surprising due to the burned bridges Punk has had with Vince McMahon and the company. Punk extracted a settlement with WWE to get out of his contract. He aired some of the company’s dirty laundry on the infamous Colt Cabana podcast which led to a lawsuit by WWE’s physician. That defamation lawsuit cost Punk a ton of money to defend as well as a public friendship divorce from Cabana. That lawsuit also was the igniter for his public castigating of the Young Bucks and Adam Page post-event at AEW’s All-Out PPV. It led to a fight which had him and Ace Steele suspended. Of course, Punk returned for a limited amount of time because of another confrontation with Jack Perry that led to a confrontation with Tony Khan. He now returns home to WWE where we assume they have patched up old differences.
But how long before Punk butts head with WWE or the talent?
For now, TKO has done it again with getting another popular star to join its roster.
