Ngannou ranked after narrow loss to Fury

November 15, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Former UFC heavyweight champion has entered the WBC boxing rankings this week at number 10. It was announced via the World Boxing Council’s social media account on Wednesday.

Ngannou fought Tyson Fury last month and delivered a knockdown of the lineal heavyweight champion. Ngannou ended up dropping the bout to Fury but gained enough respect that he received a boxing ranking.

Whether or not Ngannou continues boxing (which it seems more likely now for a business standpoint) he will eventually come back to the Professional Fighters League where he signed a lucrative deal. At this point, the PFL is soaking up in his success and at one point will get a fighter with some added value.

Francis Ngannou did an outstanding job against the WBC Heavyweight Champion and the WBC Board of Governors has agreed to rank him as No. 10 in the Heavyweight division.@francisngannou #wbcboxing #wbcuzbekistan23 pic.twitter.com/mXjhiRS9Vt
