DAZN announces changes in subscription prices

February 17, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

DAZN announced to its subscribers that it has raised its rates starting February 16th.

In an email it announced the rise in prices.

Per DAZN email:

Monthly Saver Plan: $19.99/month on a 12-month contract

  • 12 monthly instalments at a lower price
  • Exclusively available via dazn.com
  • This plan is not available via Apple, Amazon, Google or Roku billing

Annual Super Saver: $224.99/year

  • Pay upfront for a year to get the best value deal
  • This plan is available to all DAZN subscribers

Flexible Pass: $24.99/month

  • Pay monthly, cancel with 30 days’ notice
  • This plan is available to all DAZN subscribers

The amount raises the previous amount from $149.99 annually to $224.99 per year.  The monthly fee for an annual contract remains at $19.99 per month and the month-to-month fee is $24.99 per month.
The new rates do not include the PPV events that DAZN holds from time to time.

Payout Perspective

The annual amount is the big eye opener for consumers.  The raise in rates will put pressure on DAZN to produce quality events in order for retention.  With the monthly option only limited to a certain amount of the base, I would think that the flexible pass may be the option that fans (on a limited budget) may gravitate toward.
