Jake Paul predicts poor PPV sales for Silva fight

November 4, 2022 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Don’t expect the Jake Paul-Anderson Silva PPV to do big numbers.  According to Paul, the pre-buys were doing well, but then flattened out.

The PPV between Paul and Silva drew 200K-300K per the victor by unanimous decision.  The event this past Saturday was disappointing to Paul as he stated on his recent podcast.  According to Paul, he states that pre-sales were good up until the news that Silva was allegedly knocked out twice in training.  Silva stated that the news was lost in translation.  But, the commission did meet to discuss his health.  Regardless, pre-sales did not grow after the news per Paul.

Payout Perspective:

The belief that the PPV could have been altered or canceled likely halted PPV pre-sales as Paul states.  But, the undercard was not too strong and despite a legend like Anderson Silva being in the main event, some casual fans were not swayed into purchasing. If Silva was not 100%, the result was likely what occurred and why people did not want to pay for it.
