Canelo Alvarez has signed a deal with Excel Sports Management for representation in business outside of the ring. Alvarez takes on Gennady Golovkin this Saturday in Las Vegas.
Alvarez will be using Excel to land marketing and endorsement work. The agency will work in conjunction with Alvarez’s current team including his manager and trainer Eddie Reynoso.
Alvarez has sponsorship deals with small companies as well as a deal with Hennessy. The move looks to be a way to capitalize on Alvarez’s boxing fame while he remains in his prime while at the same time help him transition into a time after his boxing days are over.
