Jake Paul-Anderson Silva scheduled for Oct 29th

September 6, 2022 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Jake Paul is set to take on former UFC champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva at the Gila River Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, October 29 on Showtime PPV.

Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions will be promoting the event, Holden Boxing will be the licensed promoter of the event and Showtime Boxing will produce and distribute the PPV.  The fight will be contested at 187 pounds and scheduled for 8 rounds.

Paul’s last scheduled fight with Hasim Rahman, Jr. was cancelled due to a dispute over weight for the fight.

Silva last boxing match was a victory over Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. in June 2021.  Paul last fought in August 21 as he knocked out former UFC champ Tyrone Woodley.

Despite Silva being 47 years old, he is deemed the biggest competition for Paul in his short-lived boxing career.

A press conference is set for next Monday in Los Angeles to further promote the event.

Payout Perspective:

The crossover appeal between Silva’s esteemed career in the UFC and boxing will help the sale of this PPV.  One can expect many MMA followers cheering for the Spider while Paul will likely take shots at UFC head Dana White through the promotion of this event.  Despite what many think of Paul, he has brought interest to the realm of boxing.
