The Professional Fighters League Playoffs airing on Saturday afternoon prior to the UFC San Diego drew 276,000 viewers. It was good enough for 43rd overall in the cable ratings Saturday.
The telecast drew 100,000 in the A18-49 demo per Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.
The telecast featured the welterweight and heavyweight playoffs. The feature fight saw Rory MacDonald lost in an upset to Dilano Taylor. The 33-year-old MacDonald announced on social media that it would be his last fight and retired from MMA.
The telecast drew 0.08 in the A18-49 demo, 0.03 in F18-49 and 0.12 in M18-49, 0.05 M12-34, 0.03 F12-34, 0.04 in A18-34, 0.10 in A25-54, 0.14 in the over 50.
The PFL aired prior to the ESPN UFC San Diego prelims which was helpful for the UFC Prelims but perhaps not for the PFL as Saturday morning MMA is a nice novelty at times…when it is the UFC. Still, 276,000 viewers is a good number for the PFL as it continues on in the playoffs.
