Payout Perspective:

This is the first time in a while that we’ve seen PFL payouts.  Unfortunately for the company, two of the biggest paid stars have not come through with wins.  MacDonald and Pettis suffered losses here and in the case of Pettis, who makes $750K, you may argue that his signing did not go the way the promotion had hoped.  For a former UFC champion, one would think that a talent like Pettis would go far in this tournament format. It has not happened the past two seasons for Pettis. Similarly, MacDonald’s upset to Sy must have the PFL nervous about the prospective future for the former UFC and Bellator star.  As for Harrison, her pay is commensurate with her status and I would argue there’s no reason for her to go anywhere so long as the PFL pays her and she wins the women’s tourney each year.
