The UFC has inked a deal with blockchain logistics company VeChain. The company helps companies use the blockchain to navigate supply-chain problems. VeChain comes in as a ‘top-level UFC global sponsor’ as the ‘official blockchain partner’ of the UFC.
According to one source, it told the SBJ that the deal is for a minimum of 5 years for nearly $100M which makes it one of the largest sponsorships ever.
The deal makes the UFC revenues for 2022 up already 30% from a record revenue year in 2021.
The UFC also has deals in the blockchain category with Crypto.com and Socios. Per the SBJ article, Nielsen projected a 778% growth in sports sponsorships over the next 5 years from blockchain-related companies, reaching $5 Billion by 2026.
Payout Perspective:
The UFC touts a young demo, rabid fans and early adapters to technology. This made the deal attractive for VeChain at a time when blockchain is on the uptick. The UFC sponsorship revenues are massively growing and this deal (according to the report) reflects how lucrative it truly is right now.
