Charlo-Castano II on Showtime draws 756K average

May 17, 2022 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Showtime Boxing drew 756,000 viewers for the heavily anticipated rematch between Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano per Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.  It peaked at 832,000 viewers on Saturday night.

Charlo earned a 10th round KO of Castano in Carson, California.

Per BoxingScene.com, their first fight on Showtime in July 2021, drew 422,000 viewers with a peak viewership of 536,000.

The number represents lineal viewing and not those watching on the Showtime App.

Payout Perspective:

A big number for the main event and it shows that Charlo is someone to watch in the 154lb division.  Castano put on a great fight but it was Charlo whose star ascended on this night. The viewership reflects a boxing crowd that tuned in on a night where UFC was on ESPN.
