Top Rank Boxing draws 447,000 viewers

April 12, 2022 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Top Rank Boxing drew 447,000 viewers on Saturday night on ESPN per Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.  The telecast finished 26th overall in cable for the night.

The telecast followed the UFC 273 Prelims on ESPN.  The event drew 148,000 viewers in the A18-49 demo and 0.26 in the household ratings.

The card featured Mikaela Mayer as she defeated challenger Jennifer Han in defense of her WBO, IBF, The Ring female super featherweight titles.

The telecast drew 0.11 in the A18-49 demo, 0.08 in F18-49, 0.15 in M18-49, 0.08 in A18-34, 0.05 in F12-34, 0.10 in M12-34, 0.15 in A25-54 and 0.23 in over 50.

Payout Perspective:

A lot of UFC fans left ESPN to watch the PPV thus the considerable drop in numbers with the UFC as a “lead-in.”  Unfortunately, the ratings and numbers in demos tell you that Mayer has not made a dent in marketability thus far in her career and she is not drawing any more females to the sport as one may have hoped.
