Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is returning to the ring in May for an exhibition fight in Dubai. The 45-year-old will embark on his third exhibition post-boxing career against Don Moore.
The event will take place May 14 on a hotel helipad in Dubai and will be a PPV event. Former UFC champ Anderson Silva will be on the card as well as Badou Jack.
Moore is in his 40s but boxed professionally for 17 years with his last fight occurring in 2016.
Silva will face fellow Brazilian Bruno Machado while Jack will face Samuel Crossed.
Payout Perspective:
The last we saw of Money Mayweather, he fought Logan Paul in an exhibition in June in Miami. That PPV sold 1 million units which is outstanding for a made-up fight with a weak undercard. This time around, it seems as though the event will be done more to promote whatever interests Mayweather has in Dubai. Set on the helipad of a Dubai hotel, this sounds like an event in which Mayweather is getting a hefty appearance fee. The event is one week after a UFC PPV and Canelo-Bivol. But, coincides with the rematch of Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano on Showtime and a Triller PPV featuring Sergey Kovalev.
