Queensbury Promotions lands Fury-Whyte fight

January 28, 2022 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Frank Warren’s Queensbury Promotions won the purse bid for Tyson Fury’s next fight on Friday morning per ESPN. Warren, Fury’s co-promoter, bested Eddie Hearn’s bid to hold Fury’s defense of the WBC heavyweight title.

Warren bid $41,025,000 for the opportunity to put on the event. Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing offered $32,222,222.

Fury will receive 80% of the purse which equates to $31,938 with Whyte receiving $7,984,500. The winner will receive a bonus of $4.1 million

Whyte had filed a lawsuit this past fall in an attempt to get the fight versus Fury. The lawsuit was quickly settled with the assumption that the parties were negotiating this fight and/or offering Whyte ‘step aside’ money.

There was a package to offer money for Whyte and Anthony Joshua in order for Fury to fight Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia although those plans fell through. Now, Whyte will get a chance at Fury with the anticipated date being in April in the U.K.

They did this for Khabib in his last fight

hayjive @hayjivepicks

Never seen such blatant corruption at a championship weigh in. Khamzat is one of the last to the scales and it takes all of 3 seconds for commission to shout “185” he doesn’t touch the scale at all, scale doesn’t even settle. Just gives him the weight. Insanity…

It is comical the UFC can be the most political sports organization in the history of American sports for clear aims (Ali Act, WH event) while promoting a candidate w/ the most extreme agenda in 50 years and when called to task for that help, pretend they're helpless observers.

Ali Wong's ex-husband got off easier than Russini's current husband.

Now that this Vrabel-Russini thing is full blown, will DC chill tomorrow on the #UFC weigh-in show with Sanko or no
