In an interview with Jim Rome on Wednesday, Dana White revealed he and his family tested positive for COVID-19. White, who is vaccinated, indicated that he relied on Joe Rogan’s help in getting through the infection.
White stated that their family went to Maine for their annual Thanksgiving trip and upon returning to Las Vegas, he lost his sense of smell and tested positive for COVID-19. He also told Rome that his family tested positive and they were quarantining.
He did indicate that he is feeling better as of Wednesday after following some sort of regimen from Rogan which included obtaining monoclonal antibodies.
The help from Rogan seemed to overshadow the fact that White was vaccinated and likely the infection was mitigated due to the vaccination. However, White and Rogan are friends and the UFC head relied on the announcer, and former Fear Factor host’s advice.
Of course, we know that Rogan advised quarterback Aaron Rodgers on similar issues with the Coronavirus.
Rogan has developed a niche practice regarding combating COVID-19 without taking direction from scientists appointed to do so.
Payout Perspective:
We’ll have more on the reporting of White’s positive diagnosis in another post but its interesting to note that the news came through Rome, a friend of the UFC as he was an early adopter to the sport. Also, news of White testing positive did not directly state the news. Rather, Rogan was tied to the story after-the-fact lead of White’s diagnosis.
