PFL and Upper Deck agree to exclusive trading card and memorabilia deal

June 16, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The Professional Fighters League and Upper Deck have engaged in a multi-year deal for licensed collectibles.

According to a PFL press release, fans will be offed a wide array of collectibles that feature autographs and memorabilia from the PFL.  The trading cards will be offered in both physical and digital form featuring the likes of Kayla Harrison, Anthony Pettis, Rory MacDonald and more.  The release indicated that on June 18th at 9am PDT collectors can buy, open and collect PFL cards through Upper Deck’s e-Pack platform.  The first PFL card will commemorate Clarissa Shield’s MMA debut on June 10th and will be part of Upper Deck’s Game Dated Moments Program which allows fans to purchase exclusive cards of top highlights.

Payout Perspective:

The Game Dated Moments appears to be similar to NBA Top Shot where collectors can purchase unique highlights. The collectible market is experiencing a boon due in part to the digital forms of collecting.  PFL is high on Clarissa Shields and she will be a huge part of its marketing strategy in the future.
