The Athletic’s Mike Coppinger reported on Monday that former UFC champ Tyron Woodley will be facing Jake Paul in the former You-Tuber’s next fight. No date has been set for the fight.
The 39-year-old Woodley is on a 4 fight UFC losing streak having lost his last fight to Vincente Luque via submission in the first round at UFC 260 this past March.
Paul beat Ben Askren this past April in the very first round due to referee stoppage although it was quite clear that Askren was unable to continue after being knocked down.

Paul recently signed a deal with Showtime Sports after his first three fights were promoted by Triller Fight Club. Paul’s brother, Logan, faces Floyd Mayweather, Jr. on June 6th.
Paul and Mayweather were involved in a dustup at his brother’s press conference with the undefeated boxer causing speculation that it would lead to a Jake Paul-Mayweather fight.
Payout Perspective:
Perhaps Mayweather is on deck after Paul defeats a past-his-prime Woodley. It’s clear that Paul, his team and Showtime are dictating terms to former UFC fighters. The fact that Paul is picking off former UFC stars that are past their prime is a tactic used by various combat sports promoters. It will be hard to promote this PPV, but I guess if you can promote an Askren-Paul fight you could do a Paul-Woodley one.
