UFC 262 bonuses

May 15, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

$75,000 bonuses were handed out on Saturday night at UFC 262 in Houston.  Charles Oliveira earned the UFC lightweight title and a $75,000 bonus.

Oliveira earned his Performance Bonus with a second-round stoppage of Michael Chandler.

Christos Giagos earned a Performance Bonus with his submission over Sean Soriano in the second round of their prelim matchup.

The Fight of the Night went to Edson Barboza and Shane Burgos.  This featherweight matchup was hard hitting with Barboza using leg kicks to destroy Burgos leg as well as his own shin.  But Barboza earned the KO in round 2 with a pair of punches that landed on Burgos and he went down after a delayed reaction.

Payout Perspective:

A big night of hard-hitting fights with the night belonging to the Brazilian with the lightweight title.  Notably, Oliveira was in trouble in round 1 with Chandlers scored with a flurry of punches. But Oliveira came back with a left hook landing on Chandler to spell the end of the night for the Floridian.
