UFC on ESPN 24 took place on Saturday night at The Apex in Las Vegas. Gregor Gillespie received a double bonus for his Fight of the Night due to his opponent failing to make weight.
Gillepsie stopped Diego Ferreira in the second round of their matchup. Gillepsie earned his $50K and took Ferreira’s $50K due to the fact that UFC fighters cannot earn a bonus if they do not make weight.
Also earning bonuses was Alex Morono for ending Cowboy Donald Cerrone in a fight he dominated. Carlston Harris earned a bonus in his first fight in the UFC with an anaconda choke on Christian Aguilera.
Payout Perspective:
Gillepsie’s win was a boon for him since Ferreira did not make weight. Morono’s win was on short notice after Diego Sanchez could was scratched from the matchup.
