With acquisition of Team Sauerland Wasserman enters boxing

March 30, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Sports marketing and talent management company Wasserman has purchased European boxing promoter Team Sauerland to create Wasserman Boxing.  The move puts the LA-based company into the industry of boxing events.

Sauerland’s stable included IBF world cruiserweight champion Mairis Briedis and English middleweight contender Chris Eubank, Jr.  The foray into boxing will focus on promotion in the UK where Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing and Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions dominate.

Payout Perspective:

One may assume that Wasserman’s involvement will eventually come stateside as it might be in the acquisition mode if this initial investment works out.
