WWE Friday Smackdown dips below 2 million viewers

Despite the return of one of its biggest stars, WWE Friday Night Smackdown saw its ratings dip under 2 million viewers for the first time since New Year’s Day.

The 2-hour telecast drew 1.905 million viewers in the first hour and 1.862 million viewers in the second hour.  The telecast drew 0.5 in the A18-49 demo over both hours.  The telecast drew a 4 share in M18-49 in the first hour and a 5 share in the second hour.

Seth Rollins returned to the telecast after several months due to paternity leave.  Yet, the show’s ratings did not receive any traction. 

On January 1st, Smackdown drew 1.9 and 1.8 million viewers respectively.

Payout Perspective: ABC’s Shark Tank and the CBS lineup of MacGyver and Magnum P.I. ruled the night with the CBS lineup remaining steady in its demos while Shark Tank slipped slightly.  We will see if the Smackdown downturn continues or if this was just a one-ti
