WWE Friday Night Smackdown saw ratings pull back for the first night of 2021 as it drew 1.996 million in the first hour and 1.834 million in the second hour.
The two-hour telecast drew 0.5 in the A18-49 demo. It also drew a 3 share in the M18-49 demo over the two hours. It did fall 0.46 in compared to Christmas night.
The last telecast of 2020 was the highest-rated telecast for WWE on Fox since it premiered on the network so it was expected that there might be a dip. Of course, dipping under 2 million viewers probably is not what they wanted.
Winning the first night of 2021 was the mainstay CBS lineup of MacGyver and Magnum P.I. in the 8pm and 9pm spots.
