Top Rank Boxing draws 1.55M viewers on ESPN

December 15, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Top Rank Boxing on ESPN Saturday night drew 1.550 million viewers per Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.  The ratings were good for third overall in cable for the evening.

The event aired at 8pm after the LSU-Florida game on ESPN which gave the telecast an excellent lead-in considering the SEC clash was close and was the highest-rated cable show on Saturday.

The event featured the return of Shakur Stevenson as he defeated Toka Kahn Clary.  The 145 minute telecast drew a 0.45 rating in the A18-49 demo, 0.63 in the M18-49, 0.29 in A18-34 and 0.75 in over 50.

The last Top Rank Saturday event on ESPN was this past November’s Terrence Crawford-Kell Brook fight which drew an overall rating of 1.758M viewers.

Payout Perspective:

Great ratings for Top Rank and a good showcase for Stevenson, a former US Olympian, the 23-year-old is the future of the sport.  One would hope that the promotion continues to put him in feature fights in the future.
