Manny Pacquiao announces signing with Paradigm Sports

October 11, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Manny Pacquiao has signed a promotional contract with Paradigm Sports.  If this sounds familiar and/or redundant, it may be as Pacquiao denied being under contract with the agency that also manages Conor McGregor.

Excited to have officially partnered with @ParadigmSports 🥊👊🏼Grateful for the support of my family, team, and fans as I continue my professional boxing journey. Big things coming! Stay tuned! pic.twitter.com/bawoPAGv4H

Last month Pacquiao and McGregor flirted with the notion of the two fighting in a boxing match somewhere in the middle east.  McGregor wrote on twitter that his next fight would be against Pacquiao.  However, the former two division champ is now looking at a showdown with Dustin Poirier with the proviso that it happen before the end of 2020.

Hello Dustin! I accepted the @ufc offer to fight you, but told them it must happen in 2020. I’m ready for Nov 21st, given that cards recent injury issues, as well as any of the December dates, the 12th and the 19th. I’ll also still donate the $500k to The Good Fight Foundation 🙏 https://t.co/23hN4AHtoI

News surfaced earlier this year that Pacquiao had signed with Paradigm Sports.

However, when rumors swirled about a potential Pacquiao-McGregor fight, the senator denied he was represented by Paradigm.

Payout Perspective:

The inference here is that Pacquaio is re-thinking a big payday and easy fight against McGregor.  I am not sure what happened with the denial of being under contract with Paradigm.  Perhaps a renegotiating tactic on the part of Pacquiao or he never signed an actual agreement with Paradigm.  It appears as though he is now managed by the company.
