This week in pro wrestling ratings

September 20, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

This week in pro wrestling ratings, WWE Friday Night Smackdown experienced a slight decline in ratings while AEW won another round in head-to-head battle with NXT.

WWE Friday Smackdown drew 1.922 million viewers in hour 1 and 1.966 million viewers in hour 2.  It fell slightly in the A18-49 demo from 0.6 to 0.5 in both hours this week.  It still did draw best in the M18-49 demo with a 5 share.  Smackdown on Fox was third overall in the ratings competition on the networks Friday.  It did draw better in the 9pm-10pm slot against CBS’ Love Island which grabbed just 1.550 million viewers.

NXT on the USA network was 31st overall with just 0.18 in the A18-49 demo and 689,000 viewers.

AEW on TNT this week scored 886,000 viewers but wound up ranking third in overall cable ratings.  It drew highs in A18-34 with 0.24 and A18-49 with 0.46.  It did score a low in over 50 with 0.32.  It drew 0.34 in overall adults 18-49.

Payout Perspective:

Down week for WWE programming as Smackdown, which had experienced a growth in the last couple weeks, was under 2 million viewers.  We had another head-to-head between NXT and AEW with AEW winning again in the key demos except maybe for the over 50 category.
