Showtime Boxing draws 198K viewers average

August 20, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Showtime Boxing on Saturday night drew a 198,000 viewer average according to Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.

The event featured David Benavidez as he outclassed Alexis Angulo and the fight was called by Angulo’s corner after 10 rounds.  The only drawback from the fight was Benavidez unable to make the 168 pound weight limit.

According to BoxingScene.com, the event peaked with 245,000 viewers during the Romero-Marinez lightweight fight prior to the feature bout.  The event then tailed off in viewers to 188,000 viewers for the feature fight.

The first fight drew 139,000 as Otto Wallin returned to defeat Travis Kauffman.

Payout Perspective:

Not the best ratings for Showtime although it was the third boxing telecast of the day.  We will see how the ratings go with the return of boxing to Showtime.  In just its second telecast upon returning, the ratings are not too promising.

Dana White is such a MAGA stooge. He runs around every podcast talking about how he’s “not political” and how Donald Trump is “just his friend,” all while asking that same friend to help him write off more gambling losses and throwing him a UFC fight in front of the White House

New: UFC President Dana White has sent a letter to President Donald Trump asking him to help reverse the 90 percent limit on gambling loss deductions for US taxpayers that became law last year.

The issue has been a concern for both bettors and the gambling industry itself.
