PBC on Fox draws 885K, post-lims on FS1 draw 127K

August 11, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

PBC on Fox drew 885,000 viewers on Saturday night according to Nielsen Media Research via ShowBuzz Daily.  The ratings account for the overrun of the feature fight which started after the original 8-10pm window.

PBC on Fox returned Saturday night to the network following a hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.  It returned without an audience in Los Angeles at the Microsoft Theatre.  The feature fight saw Jamal James defeat Thomas Dulorme to earn the Interim WBA Welterweight Title.

Post-Fox event, PBC on FS1 drew 127,000 viewers.  PBC on Fox Deportes drew another 60,000 viewers.  Luke Santamaria defeated Mykal Fox in the feature matchup of the telecast.

In the fast nationals, PBC on Fox drew 711,000 viewers in the first hour and 834,000 in the second hour.

In March, it drew an average of 1.443 million viewers.  In January, its overall viewership drew 1.528 million viewers.

Payout Perspective:

Decisively low ratings on Saturday night which was due in part to NHL and PGA golf being on at the same time.  The return of golf and the novelty of a west coast event allowing it to be in prime time on the east coast likely took away a casual viewer although the Philadelphia Flyers playing on NBC hurt it too.  We shall see if PBC can capitalize on a rather busy fall schedule as it starts to produce more events.
